"Racing Queen"

Recorded by LN the NASCAR Poet and The RPM's

"Racing Queen"

She’s a Racing Queen,
Meetin' Earnhardt’s her dream.
RPM’s get her hot!
A Miss America long shot.

She’s a Racing Queen,
Grew up on butter beans,
She loves to smell rubber burn,
And for speed - for speed she yearns!

CHORUS:
Cuz’ she’s queen of the track,
She’s all dressed in black.
And when she comes on to you,
You’ll fall in love with her too.

She’s a Racing Fan,
With her Daytona tan.
Her tube top fits just right,
For infield parties every night.

She’s a Racing Fan,
You know Skynard’s her band.
She’ll two step into your heart,
But like the wall she’ll tear you apart!

She’s a wild tailgater,
Can change a radiator.
And when you finally meet,
Your radiator will overheat!

She’s a wild tailgater,
A spoiler debater,
Pontiac, Chevy, or Ford,
Who has a 1/4” more?

CHORUS:
Cuz’ she’s queen of the track,
And when you look back - and you will,
She’ll rule your mind
Cuz’ you’re just her kind.

She's a Racing Queen.
Everybody loves a Racing Queen, baby.

Can I be your Racing Queen?

"Racing Queen" is my favorite LN the NASCAR Poet song. Ellen reached deep into her soul and pulledl this one out. I never was much of a race fan until I heard this song...

Rob Malone also reached deep and cut some of the most expressive guitar work I've heard. Pay attention to the fluttering turn-around after the guitar lead. Nice work, people!

"Racing Queen" was recorded in a converted 2-car garage that was being used as a guest-room/rec-room. We moved all the furniture to the walls, set up the instruments, and rolled the tape.

The RPM’s:
Rob Malone - Guitars
Patrick Weir - Drums
“Mobly” Chuck Bradburn - Bass
Matt Shook - Keyboards
